Mendeley has a nice iPad/iPhone App too. I was having problems with the iPad App. PDF files attached to references were not seen as true PDF files but as HTML links. Of course it was impossible to download the correct file. As suggested here I had to remove the app, install it again, and sync it with Mendeley. Now all the links work properly.

Well, they don't consume too much storage space on the Iphone, so probably leaving it is not too much of a damage. Maybe when these apps will spread amongst my contacts they will be more useful. It would also be more useful to have them interoperable on different platforms (iphone, windows, android).

I have just finished typing my book: 150 pages with tables and images and a 30Mb file. Word 2011 did it till the end. Of course it crashed from time to time, but I would have not dared to do it with Word 2008. Anyhow, I think I've found a bug: the reference section is not properly alphabetically ordered. Strange enough the list starts from X to Z and then from A to W. To solve I have transformed the reference section into normal text and then ordered it manually. It is not such a big problem but it is a bit annoying. I hope they will fix it soon.

I can now confirm, the new LyX version for Mac OS X Snow Leopard really fixes all the issues that I have mentioned in this post. I have used LyX to write my PhD dissertation. But now I look forward to v. 2.0 that should have more powerful spell checking features.
